The basic need we have at present is for our own place of worship that will house the congregation, Christian education programs, and the headquarters of BCM. The building is about one-third finished and is progressing well. The congregation moved into the lower portion of the church on Christmas Eve.
We praise God for this success! Here are the programs that will operate even more effectively in the new building:

People’s lives change dramatically, and most problems are on their way to being solved. Our aim is to preach the Gospel to 2,000 Burmese and tribal people in 2024.
Our pastor speaks at least five languages and, therefore, can present the Gospel to many tribes and peoples. We trust that many will respond with faith and become believers. Please pray to that end!

We have hired excellent teachers to teach and coordinate a Christian education program for elementary school children.

At any given time, there are about 15 people in the program. The leader of the program is a person who has recovered from substance dependency and is doing outstanding work alongside Pastor Aung Mai. We are excited and grateful that Global Teen Challenge is coming alongside to help us with training, curriculum and their experience.
We need a farm and better facilities to help people recovering from substance dependency learn life skills before they return to their families.
New believers know little about the Gospel. They are vulnerable in a hostile culture.
They need nourishment and accurate teaching by trained pastors. We have one trainee in process and a new church plant on the way.
At present, we have two churches in process. We are trusting God for many more.
There is much poverty and opportunity for helping many reverse their downward spiral. When we present the Gospel, we often provide food .
Because of three cyclones this last year, needs have escalated. Your help is needed and greatly appreciated. Our success is because of your help and prayers!
Few medical services are available to poor people. So we have created a medical clinic in our new church building. Many have come for help; we provide the Gospel while treating their illness, so they receive help for body and soul. People are very grateful that you care for them!
There are far too many cheap drugs available in Myanmar, which creates a large problem. We want to help people who are in need and want to be restored through the power of Jesus and good teaching and mentoring.
That is why BCM has adopted the Eden Rehabilitation Centre. This work was founded by Ai Kyaw in 2022. He used to be drug dependent and tried to become clean in many ways, but kept falling.
So, he decided to change his life at a drug rehab centre in Yangon, and by the power of God and His Word, it worked. He has a passion for everyone who is facing addiction, and he wants them to be free from addiction.
He became a helper at the Yangon rehab centre. Many years after that, he opened a centre by himself. Over a hundred people have been freed from substance dependency, and many of those have accepted Jesus as their Saviour.
Due to circumstances, he had to close his centre, and he moved to where BCM is operating. He heard God calling him, so he opened one without any sponsors; it was only funded by himself and his family. He needs your help. We are excited about Global Teen Challenge coming alongside ERC.
Pastor Aung Mai teaching addicts.
A number of clients have accepted Jesus and have been baptized and belong to our BCM church. They became wholesome, productive people who are able to help and support their families.
At this time, there are 15 people at the centre, which is the capacity of the centre. However, there is a great need for many more to be helped. The youngest person is 10 years old, and the oldest is 56. Some are from the Lahu, Aka, Burmese, and Kachin areas and tribes.
The existing facility is very minimal, and cannot provide adequate programs and housing for clients. BCM plans to buy land and build a Rehabilitation Centre with a capacity to treat 100 people. This can be done for a total cost of about $80,000 dollars, plus operating costs.
Once the clients have been healed of their addictions and have become believers, we trust they will attend our church for nourishment, discipling, and a supporting community.
